Academic Technology Services provides technology services, support, and resources to the UC San Diego academic community, facilitating research, teaching and learning in service of the university's mission. Our efforts are grounded in a commitment to quality, collaboration, customer focus, innovation, and inclusiveness. We have two primary teams, Educational Technology Services (ETS) and Research IT Services.

ETS provides faculty training and support for instructional technology; supports tools such as the campus learning management system and academic podcasting; develops multimedia for online, hybrid and flipped classes; and manages the Media Teaching Lab, providing students training and access to cameras, editing studios, TV studios and other multimedia equipment and tools. Instructional resources are available to students, faculty, teaching assistants, and support staff.

Research IT Services provides a variety of digital technology services to faculty, research staff, postdoctoral and graduate students, including all academic departments, schools and divisions. We provide direct outreach and resource recommendations to faculty, assist in integration of new technologies in the lab, create demos and proofs of concept for researchers, and coordinate between cloud and campus technology providers (including ITS, SDSC, Calit2, the Library), the Schools, Divisions, Departments and labs, the Office of Research Affairs, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions directly to researchers.
