Foreign Currency Conversion Fees

Find out about the conversion fee that is applied when you use the UC San Diego Travel Card in a foreign location.

When you make a purchase in a foreign currency using the Travel Card, the charge is converted to U.S. dollars and a foreign currency exchange fee applies to the conversion. The exchange fee will be reflected on your statement.

The exchange fee is 1.5% of the converted charge.

To claim the fee, list the exchange fee on the "Other tab" in MyTravel after the trip concludes.

For exchange rates, see the Foreign Currency Converter.
