Configuring Windows 7 to Use Encrypted (WPA2-E) Wireless Services

Learn how to configure your Windows 7 computer to use Wi-Fi Protected Access-Enterprise (WPA2-E) at UC San Diego.


  • You must have administrator privileges on your PC to successfully complete these steps.
  • If you're using the wireless card manufacturer's software program to control your wireless, see alternate instructions.
  1. Click on the Wireless Network Connection icon on the bottom right of your screen near the system clock.
  2. Click on the UCSD-PROTECTED network.
  3. Ensure the "Connect automatically" box is checked and click Connect.
  4. If a "Windows Security Alert" window opens, please click the "Connect" button again.
  5. Enter your Active Directory username and password.

You are now connected to the protected wireless network.
