Zoom: Installation

Find out how to install Zoom, a virtual-meeting room for collaborating and sharing content.

Important Notice: May 30 update

As of May 30, client-based Zoom applications must be updated to version 5.0 or higher.  Learn more.

If you received the following error message while your Zoom App was trying to update to version 5.0:

"Auto Update Disabled - Automatic Updates are disabled for Zoom. Ask your IT Administrator for help."

Uninstall Zoom and then re-install it. (See below for more detailed installation instructions.)
If you do not have admin rights/permissions on your machine, contact your local IT team.

Note: If you have issues with the computer update, you can still log in to a meeting via the Zoom online version while seeking assistance.

Desktop client

The desktop client is an executable program that provides you with the ability to participate in meetings from your personal computer.

How to install the desktop client

  1. Navigate to https://zoom.us/support/download.
  2. Download ZoomInstaller.exe.
  3. Run ZoomInstaller.exe and follow the on-screen prompts.

iOS application

The iOS app is an executable program that provides you with the ability to participate in meetings from either your iPad or iPhone.

How to install the iOS application

  1. Navigate to the app store from your iOS device.
  2. Search for “Zoom Cloud Meetings.”
  3. Download and install the app.

Microsoft Outlook plug-in

The Microsoft Outlook plug-in is a software component that provides you with the ability to participate in meetings from your Outlook application on your personal computer.

How to install the Outlook plug-in

  1. Navigate to https://zoom.us/download.
  2. Download the Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.
  3. Run “ZoomOutlookPluginSetup.msi” from the download folder and follow the on-screen prompts.

Firefox extension

The Firefox extension is a software component that provides you with the ability to participate in meetings from your Firefox browser on your personal computer.

How to install the Firefox extension

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Navigate to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/.
  3. Search for “Zoom Scheduler” and choose Add to Firefox button.
  4. When prompted, choose the Install button.

Chrome extension

The Chrome extension is a software component that provides you with the ability to participate in meetings from your Chrome browser on your personal computer.

How to install the Chrome extension

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Navigate to https://chrome.google.com/webstore.
  3. Search for “Zoom Scheduler” and choose the Add To Chrome button.
  4. When prompted, choose the Add app button.
