Setting Up Windows Phone 7 for Exchange

Follow these steps to set up a Windows Phone 7 device to access your UCSD Exchange email account.

Before you begin, you need:

  • An Active Directory (AD) username and password. Your username is usually the first part of your UCSD email address before the @ symbol. If you forgot your password, reset it.
  • An Exchange account in the UCSD Campus Exchange Organization.
  • The name of the Exchange server that hosts your Exchange mailbox.
  • A device running Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft Exchange

If your e-mail account has been migrated, change the following in your e-mail client:

  • Username (full and official UCSD e-mail address): username@ucsd.edu
  • Incoming server: outlook.office365.com

1. Access email settings.

  • Select Settings from the main window.
  • Select email & accounts.
  • Select add an account.
  • Select advanced setup.

2. Enter email address and password.

  • Enter your UCSD email address in the Email address field.
  • Enter your UCSD email password in the Password field
  • Click next.

3. Exchange ActiveSync.

  • Select Exchange ActiveSync.
  • Enter ad.ucsd.edu in the Domain field.
  • Enter mail.ucsd.edu in the Server field.
  • Click sign in.
