What Is Cloud Email?

Cloud Email (a component of Office 365) provides anytime, anywhere, any device secure email access for Outlook. With Cloud Email, you’ll get an enhanced email environment: 

  • Improved Outlook Web Access (OWA) interface
  • Better search capabilities
  • Unlimited archiving and an email quota of 99 GB for storage
  • Plus, other features designed to increase efficiency and improve navigation of your mailbox

What’s changing?

After you are migrated to Cloud Email:

  • You will use Outlook Web Access via a new web portal: Notice the slight variation of the old portal’s address. Hint: see the e in email? will redirect to after all health sciences users are transitioned.
  • To log in to Cloud Email via the web, you will use a variation of your email address that identifies you as a Health Sciences employee:
  • If you receive your work email address on a mobile device, you will need to reconfigure your settings

Moving to Cloud Email supports UC San Diego Health Sciences’ long-term strategy to shift away from traditional data centers to a less expensive and more reliable and secure cloud environment to safeguard the organization’s important data.
