    • If your student is having trouble getting hard-copy textbooks, have them ask professors and faculty to look up their institution’s specific “Fair Use Checklist” (link is for UCSD's). This allows professors to scan little bits of their course materials at a time for educational purposes without being sued for copyright. Each institution is slightly different, ask your student's institution librarian for assistance.
