Wire transfers, stock gifts, and other non-cash contributions are processed jointly by Gift & Foundation Accounting and Gift Services. Our team records these transactions, ensures compliance with UC and IRS requirements, and provides accurate accounting for both UC San Diego and the UC San Diego Foundation.
Processing Wires and Stock Gifts
Donors may make charitable contributions through electronic transfer of cash or securities. Departments and development staff should direct donors to the official page for current banking and brokerage instructions.
This page includes:
- UC San Diego Foundation and Regents bank and brokerage account details
- Required donor and fund designation information
- Contacts for notifying Gift & Foundation Accounting when transfers are initiated
Campus Responsibilities
Campus departments play an important role in ensuring accurate posting of these gifts.
Departments should:
- Notify Gift & Foundation Accounting when a donor indicates a transfer is in process
- Confirm the appropriate fund number and donor designation
- Retain documentation (emails, confirmations, stock valuation statements) for audit purposes
- Route any questions about non-cash gifts or valuation to Gift & Foundation Accounting via Services and Support.
