2nd Annual Continuous Innovation in Higher Education Forum

The Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives at UC San Diego is hosting the 2nd Annual Continuous Innovation in Higher Education Forum on March 20 and 21, 2019.

Event Location: UC San Diego Campus, The Forum meeting room at the Price Center East.

In an effort to create a unique and intimate learning and networking event, we are capping attendance at 50 total participants. This forum is intended to bring together continuous improvement practitioners from other institutions who want to learn more from colleagues about innovative methods and applications. To cover event costs, we are charging a small registration fee for each portion of the forum you choose to attend:

Half Day Lean Six Sigma White Belt Training
March 20 – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Cost: $45

Continuous Innovation in Higher Education Forum (see tentative agenda below)
March 21 – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Cost: $75

Both days will take place on the UC San Diego campus in The Forum meeting room on the 4th floor in the Price Center East, located at Central Campus.

Welcome Reception on March 20

All event participants who would like to join us for a happy hour welcome reception at UC San Diego’s Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club on the evening of March 20 will have the opportunity to network with colleagues before the forum the following day. This welcome reception takes place directly following the Lean Six Sigma White Belt training and will include light appetizers. Please register for the welcome reception by selecting the FREE ticket in Eventbrite.

Nearby Hotel Accommodations

Please note: March is a busy month in San Diego due to Spring Break. Therefore, we highly encourage booking your hotel accommodations as soon as possible.

Parking

If you will be driving your own vehicle and will be coming to campus for the event on March 20 and 21, please be aware that visitor parking can be limited. Please park at the Gilman Parking Structure (see map below). Visitor parking rates can be found at the Transportation Services webpage. If you prefer to take a Lyft or Uber, please inform the driver that you will need to be dropped off at the Price Center at the end of Matthews Ln off of Voigt Dr. Walk to the “The Forum” in the Price Center which is located on the 4th floor of Price Center East.

UC Campus Visitor Parking Information (For Guests from other UC campuses only):

Systemwide Parking Reciprocity Policy: If you are visiting from another UC campus, and have a faculty or staff parking permit, you may receive complimentary parking privileges for up to 5 days. However, UC San Diego requires that you obtain your complimentary visitor pass by visiting one of our parking offices and present your Campus ID and valid campus parking permit. Details on where to find the parking offices can be found at the Parking for Visiting UC Faculty and Staff webpage. Please be sure to display your complimentary parking permit on the day of the forum if you intend to park on campus.
