US Gov’t & CDC require negative COVID-19 test result for all travelers arriving on international flights

Starting on January 26th, a new CDC order requires all U.S.-bound passengers flying into the country to present a negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival. Travelers should get tested before flying into the United States or be prepared to show proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from a healthcare provider or a public health official showing a clearance to travel.

This order applies to ALL air passengers traveling into the US, including US citizens and legal permanent residents.

Travelers must get tested no more than 3 days prior departure for the US and must ensure they be tested with a viral test (NAAT or antigen test) to determine if they are currently infected with COVID-19. Travelers must also ensure they receive test results BEFORE flight departure and have documentation of those results to show the airline at check-in.

Airlines must confirm the negative test result or documentation of recovery for all passengers before boarding. If a passenger chooses not to provide a test result or documentation of recovery, the airline must deny boarding to the passenger.

Full list of FAQ’s can be found on the CDC site.
