Earth 2.0

Earth2.0 CO-RESPOND is a UCSD-based program to support front line clinicians and researchers; and for multidisciplinary teams to work on rapid-response solutions to the COVID-19 crisis: from clinical research to PPE to ventilators to rapid testing.   The platform links problems with solutions, and posts the quality-controlled results on a public website. If you need help (research/IRB/platforms/links to best practices) or can give help (expertise/lead teams/edit/research tasks), join the effort at earth2-covid.ucsd.edu or submit questions by email: COVID-help@ucsd.edu.

SCREEN

San Diego Covid REsearch Enterprise Network is a grassroots-driven, multi-institutional effort with researchers and clinicians from UC San Diego, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, Scripps Research, San Diego State University, the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, La Jolla Institute for Immunology, Rady’s Children Hospital, and many biotech and technology collaborators. Together they provide COVID-19 research-related information, coordinate research and fundraising efforts, and provide the community an outlet to engage with one another in these difficult times.

C19RB

The institutional COVID-19 Research Biobank (C19RB) is being led by Prof. David Boyle (dboyle@health.ucsd.edu) of the ACTRI. Sample collection and limited distribution has begun. Biosamples, including blood, nasopharyngeal swabs, various microbiome sites, and saliva will ultimately be collected. A survey for COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 sample/cohort interests and a sample request form will be posted on the ACTRI website (actri.ucsd.edu). Investigators are encouraged to use the institutional IRB consent form and biobank instead of seeking approval for individual projects. UCSD clinicians interested in participating through collaboration and sample acquisition are encouraged to contact us.
