Carryforward & Reserves
Learn about campus guidelines for carryforward fund balances and reserves.
Financial Units are expected to operate within their available funding and keep unrestricted carryforward balances at a reasonable level. The Campus Budget Office (CBO) measures those balances in Days Fund Balance (DFB): how many days of operating expenses a unit's year-end balance would cover.

Check your unit's category. CBO did an initial mapping of each unit into one of the four unit types above. Please review your unit's category and contact CBO if a change is needed.
