The Project Dashboard delivers a full look at project financials and is designed to support the PI, the Project Manager, and Fund Manager.

PPM Project Balances

Business Scenarios

  • PPM Project Balances may be used to view all of your Project and Task Costs, Revenue, and Committed Costs at the PPM subledger level
  • Note that General Projects do not currently have budgets in PPM, only Sponsored Projects do
  • This tab is useful for those who want to view all types of Projects in one table
  • What is the budget balance on my Sponsored Projects and each of its Tasks?
  • How much do I have in Committed Costs for each of these Projects and Tasks?

Data Selection and View Options

  • Use these parameters to filter for the data you want to view
  • These filters can be used in combination or individually to produce desired results

Report Views
  • Results display in two tables - Non-Sponsored Projects and Sponsored Projects
  • Non-Sponsored Project balances display 10 default columns subtotaled by Project
  • Sponsored Project balances displays 7 default columns subtotaled by Project
  • Additional columns are available to users to add to the report

PPM Monthly Project Costs

Business Scenarios

  • PPM Monthly Project Costs Overview may be useful for those who need a monthly and quarterly summary of their Project and Tasks costs by Expenditure Category
  • What are my monthly and quarterly expenses on a Project and Task and what is the breakdown by Expenditure Category?

Award Summary

Business Scenarios

  • Award Summary serves to provide PIs and Fund Managers with an overview of their active grants, new grants, expiring grants, and how much is Unbudgeted or Unallocated
  • How many active grants do I have and how many of them are Unbudgeted or Unallocated in PPM?
  • How many of my Awards are going to expire in the next 90 days?

Award Financials

Business Scenarios

  • Award Financials provides an overview of Award Budgeted Amount, ITD Expenditures, Remaining Budget, Awards Overspent, Award Underspent, Overspent Amount and Awards with over 80% of Budget spent
  • How much have I spent on each of my Awards and how many Awards are Overspent or Underspent?

  • Automatically set with the same parameters provided on the Award Summary Page and defaulting to the current Fiscal Year
  • Use these parameters to filter for the data you want to view
  • These filters can be used in combination or individually to produce desired results

GL Project Balances

Business Scenarios

  • GL Project Balances display a Project's Beginning Net Position, Total Resources, Total Expenses, Ending Net Position, Capital Equipment Expenditures, and Resources Available

  • This report includes Project values of 0000000

  • Project Resources Available displayed on this report may differ from the PPM Project Balance since some transactions post to the GL directly

    This report answers the following questions:

    • What are the Resources Available for my Project?
    • What are the YTD Total Resources and Total Expenses for my Project?
    • What did I spend inception to date for Capital Equipment for my Project?

Data Selection and View Options

  • Use these parameters to filter for the data you want to view
  • These filters can be used in combination or individually to produce desired results
  • Accounting Period is a required parameter


Report Views

  • Results display in a table with FinU code and description, Project code and description, Fund code and 5 amount columns
  • Additional columns are available to users to add to the report

All Transactions: GL & Subledgers

Business Scenarios

  • All Transactions GL & Subledgers is a single space where users can view transactions that hit all ledgers: the General Ledger and each Subledger (PPM, Payables, Receivables, Cash Mgmt.)
  • What are all of the transactions that hit each subledger for my Project?
  • What transactions hit the GL directly?
  • Something hit the General Ledger, where did this come from?
