The Fund Balance Scorecard report displays overall department-controlled and faculty-controlled resources available at various levels of the Financial Unit hierarchy across campus.
The Fund Balance Scorecard report is available from the Business Analytics Hub under the Financial Resource Management Dashboard. Standard Oracle roles are required to access the report.Business Scenarios
- The Fund Balance Scorecard report displays overall department-controlled and faculty-controlled resources available at various levels of the Financial Unit hierarchy across campus.
- The ‘No Selection’ column in this report highlights fund balances for project numbers that have not been tagged as department-controlled or faculty-controlled. Departments across campus are in the process of assigning department and faculty-controlled tags to all projects.
- The report also displays Beginning Net Position, Total Resources, Total Expenses, and Change in Net Position.
- The report can be run for different Fund types: Contracts and Grants, Core Funds, Other Unrestricted Funds, Restricted Funds. The report can be run for a single, multiple, or all Fund types.
- The report is drillable across the Vice Chancellor, School, Department levels of the Financial Unit hierarchy. Click on the blue hyperlinks in the report to drill through the hierarchy.
- Internal Loan Funds 13042 are excluded from this report.
This report answers the following questions:
- What is the Total Managerial Resources Available for my Vice Chancellor? For my School? For my Department?
- What is the Department-Controlled Resources Available for my Vice Chancellor? For my School? For my Department?
- What is the Faculty-Controlled Resources Available for my Vice Chancellor? For my School? For my Department?
- What is the Beginning Net Position for my Vice Chancellor? For my School? For my Department?
- What are the Total Resources, Total Expenses, and Change in Net Position for my School? For my Department?
Data Selection and View Options
Use these parameters to filter for the data you want to see.
- Accounting Period is a required prompt.
- Fund Type is an optional prompt. If left unchecked, the report will generate data using all Fund types.
- Financial Unit Level 2 is the VC.
- Level 3 is the School.
- Level 4 is Department.
Report Views
Results display across 3 drillable views:
- Financial Unit Level 2 – Vice Chancellor
- Financial Unit Level 3 – School
- Financial Unit Level 4 – Department
To export the report to Excel, click on the white right-pointing triangle and select ‘Run Excel data’.
