Deleting Captions

Here's how to delete a caption file from a Kaltura entry in MediaSpace.

We strongly recommend against deleting your only set of captions. Even machine captions (with all their inaccuracies) provide some benefit to students with disabilities. That said, if you need to delete one of your caption files from your Kaltura video, follow the steps below.

  1. Sign into MediaSpace.
    1. Go to https://mediaspace.ucsd.edu.
    2. Click "Guest" near the top right of the screen.
    3. Select "Login" from the menu that appears.
    4. Enter your active directory credentials.Your name should replace the word "guest" at the top of the screen.
  2. Click your name and select "My Media."
  3. Locate the video in question and click the pencil icon on its row.
  4. Click the "Captions" tab underneath the video player.
  5. You should now see the list of captions affiliated with your video. Click the "X" on the row of the caption you want to delete.
