1. Review when your card will be renewed.

  • Express Cards expire every four years on the last day of the expiration month and are good through the last day of the month in which they expire. Example: A card with an expiration date of 06/17 will expire on June 30, 2021.
  • Cards are automatically reissued to cardholders who have used their card within the last twelve (12) months prior to expiration.
  • Express Cards are sent from U. S. Bank directly to the cardholder at their UCSD business address in the expiration month.

2. Receive a new card.

  • Receive a new Express Card from your ECDA with a new expiration date.

If you do not receive a new card by the last day of the card's expiration month contact your ECDA.

3. Activate your card.

  • Contact U. S. Bank by phoning the number that appears on the sticker located on the front of your card.
  • Follow the prompts to activate your card.
  • When prompted for your Social Security Number, provide your UCSD employee number.

Note: If you pay regular monthly charged on your Express Card, such as cell phone or water delivery, be sure to contact the supplier and provide them with your new expiration date after you receive and activate your replacement card.

4. Sign your card.

  • Sign the back of your card on the space provided.
