How to Get Access to UCSD Business Systems

Follow this guide to obtain needed authorization and training which will give you access to UCSD Business Systems and their data.

Note: You must have a valid Single Sign-On account to access UCSD Business Systems Link Family products such as  ISIS, IFIS, PPS, DB2/ Data Warehouse, Coeus, and Timekeeping. Not sure what systems you already have access to? See How to Learn About Your Access Rights.

1. Self-register with Single Sign-On.

To gain access to UCSD Business Systems, you need a Single Sign-On account:

  • Self-register with Single Sign-On to create your department account.
    • If you have problems self-registering, contact your Department Security Administrator (DSA).
    • If you have recently transferred to a new department, you must self-register for a new account. If you have problems, contact your new Department Security Administrator (DSA).

2. Get approval for access to UCSD Business Systems.

Once you have your Single Sign-On account:

  • Get your supervisor's approval to access UCSD Business Systems.
  • Confer with your supervisor to determine:
    •  Which UCSD Business Systems tools and/or data you need to access (financial, student, payroll, etc. )
    • The types of transactions that you need to process, for example:
      • PPS: inquiry or update or PAN only
      • IFIS transactional areas and approval routing

3. Complete appropriate training.

  • Ask your supervisor to recommend and approve appropriate training.
  • Enroll in and complete the training sessions recommended by your supervisor.
  • Notify your supervisor when you complete training.
    • Your supervisor should forward the necessary approval(s), justifications and information to your Departmental Security Administrator (DSA) including:
      • Any pertinent training with dates you've completed the training
      • The types of transactions you will need to process

4. Access UCSD Business Systems.

Once you have completed training, your supervisor or DSA will notify you when your UCSD Business Systems access is ready for you to use.
