How to Forward Calls to an On-Campus Number (call forward/ follow me)

Learn how to use the call-forward/ follow-me feature to send calls to an alternate phone number on campus.

You must have Feature Package 1 to use call forward/ follow me.

Note: The information on this page is generally applicable to most phone models at UCSD. You may need to check specific information about your phone and the features available to you.

Expand all

1. Activate the call-forward/ follow-me feature.

  • Forward calls to another extension:
    1. Lift the handset.
    2. Press * 2 *
    3. Enter the 5-digit extension for the phone number to which you want to direct calls.
    4. Press #
    5. Listen for the pulsating dial tone.
    6. Replace the handset.
  • Forward calls again from the new extension to a different extension:
    1. At the new extension, lift the handset
    2. Press * 2 *
    3. Enter the original extension number, plus *
    4. Enter the new five-digit extension to which you want to direct calls
    5. Press #
    6. Listen for the pulsating dial tone.
    7. Replace the handset.

2. Cancel the follow-me feature.

  • Lift the handset.
  • Press # 2 #
  • Listen for a normal dial tone.
  • Replace the handset.
