Configuring Windows 8 to Use Encrypted (WPA2-E) Wireless Services

Learn how to configure your Windows 8 Desktop/Tablet/Phone to use Wi-Fi Protected Access-Enterprise (WPA2-E) at UC San Diego.

  • You must have administrator privileges on your PC to successfully complete these steps.
  • If you're using the wireless card manufacturer's software program to control your wireless, see alternate instructions.

From the home screen

  1. Go to Settings
    1. Swipe from the right side of your tablet/phone
      1. For desktop and laptop machines, move your mouse pointer to the upper righthand corner of your screen
    2. Click on the settings (wheel Icon)
    3. Click on the Available Icon
    4. Click on UCSD-PROTECTED
    5. Click Connect
    6. Enter your AD (Active Directory) username and password
    7. Click OK
    8. Click Connect

You are now connected to the protected wireless network.
