Configuring Windows 7 Device to Use Encrypted (WPA-E) Wireless Services at UCSD

Follow these steps to set up your Windows 7 device to use WPA-E encrypted wireless at UCSD.
Before you begin, you must have:
- An Active Directory (AD) username and password. Your username is usually the first part of your UCSD e-mail address (before the @ symbol). If you have forgotten your password, reset it at http://adpass.ucsd.edu.
- A Windows 7 device.
Expand all
- Select Settings.
- Select Wi-Fi Settings.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on with the use of the virtual sliding switch
- Select UCSD-PROTECTED.
- If UCSD-PROTECTED isn’t on the list, you may need to move to another area with better connectivity.
- Username field: Enter your Active Directory username.
- Password field: Enter your Active Directory password.
- Select Done.
- Select Connect.
To verify you have a proper IP address once you are connected
- Select Settings.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on with the use of the virtual sliding switch
- Select UCSD-PROTECTED
- IP address field will have a 128.xxx.xxx.xxx address
