You must secure access to the ACT mainframe by configuring your software to use a protocol for protecting data.
If you have TN3270 software from Brown University on your Macintosh computer with Operating System X, choose the appropriate instructions:
- TN3270 3.1.1 or greater: You don't need Stunnel, but you must complete a special setup procedure:
- Open TN3270 and close any default window that comes up.
- Click File, New Session
- Enter the host name, hubble.ucsd.edu
- Enter the window title, adcom
- Click the Special box
- Enter Port: 1023 and Security: SSL
- Select SSL/ TLS Default
- Close Special
- Click Open Connection, verify the connection works, then save a settings file.
- Overwrite the old file to eliminate any confusion.
- TN3270 3.0 or earlier: Follow the steps below.
