Use the Calendar Gateway to view or add public UCSD calendars and events to your own work or personal calendar.
Expand all
- Go to the Calendar Gateway.
- Down the left side, you’ll see the UCSD Calendar of Events listed first, followed by several categories of other calendars.
- Click the expand arrow in front of a category to see the calendars it contains.
- Check the box next to a calendar to select it to appear in the gateway. Uncheck boxes to de-select calendars.
- Go to the Calendar Gateway.
- The gateway defaults to the agenda, or daily, view.
- Click Week or Month to see other views.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the date to see a mini calendar.
- Go to the Calendar Gateway.
- Click an event title to see details. Note that the event colors match the calendar category colors.
- Add an event to your personal or work calendar in one of these ways:
- If you have a Google calendar, click the Add to my Google calendar link.
- A new screen will open with a Google Calendar box containing the event.
- Change any options you wish, then click save (lower left).
- If you have Outlook, Entourage, or another iCal-format calendar, click the Download as iCal link.
- A box will open.
- Choose Open and click Okay.
- The calendar appointment will open. Make any changes you need, then save and close (top left).
- Go to the Calendar Gateway.
- Click the box next to a calendar name to select it for download to your personal or work calendar.
- Click the Add calendars to my Google calendar link at the bottom of the calendar box:
- Log in to your Google calendar.
- Click Yes in the dialog box to add the calendar.
- Your Google calendar will reload to display the selected calendar under Other Calendars on the left.
- Go to the Calendar Gateway.
- Enter a term in the search field and click Search to see a list of events that contain that word.
Tips:
- The search time frame is 1 month before and 6 months after today’s date.
- Broaden your search to see more listings. For example, instead of Finals Week, try Final.
- If you still don’t get any listings, the event you’re searching for is probably not included on any Calendar Gateway calendars.
If you own a public calendar for your department or organization that you would like to display in the gateway, see
Registering and Managing Your Organization's Calendar.
