External and Business Affairs Hardware and Software Overview

External and Business Affairs' standards and recommendations for hardware and software are designed to promote effective communication and information sharing among its departments.

The External and Business Affairs Systems Committee establishes hardware and software standards and guidelines to achieve more effective:
  • Communication and information sharing
  • Staff training
  • Problem solving
  • Service and support to the UCSD community
Before you buy hardware or software for any External and Business Affairs department, please refer to the External and Business Affairs Standards and Recommendations. Exceptions must be approved by the Vice Chancellor's office. For details, see:

Note: The External and Business Affairs standards are minimum requirements. Specifying additional RAM or a larger hard drive, for instance, is acceptable as long as you stay within the recommended product line.
