UCPath consists of two separate efforts, related through process streamlining and standardization. Those efforts are:

Because of the scope of UCPath, it is being implemented in phases and rolled out in waves. Waves are a small subset of UC campuses and medical centers. The wave approach was chosen o manage risk, build momentum, and provide proof of success. The illustration below demonstrates the current phase of UCPath for the UC San Diego campus.
Schedule Update: The UCOP UCPath Executive Steering Team revised the go-live date for Wave 1 campuses. July 2014 is the date that UCLA, UC Merced, UC Santa Cruz and UCOP will being using UCPath. Wave 2 will go live in January 2015, followed by Wave 3 in July 2015.

UC San Diego is a Wave 2 institution.
Schedule Update: The UCOP UCPath Executive Steering Team revised the go-live date for Wave 1 campuses. July 2014 is the date that UCLA, UC Merced, UC Santa Cruz and UCOP will being using UCPath. Wave 2 will go live in January 2015, followed by Wave 3 in July 2015.
The UCPath Center will provide payroll and HR services to approximately 190,000 UC employees system-wide. The center is located near the UC Riverside campus and will employ 500-600 employees when fully staffed.

Go-live dates for Waves 2/3 are January 2015 and July 2015, respectively. This change in schedule has significant impact on the UCPath Center's staffing and opening schedule.
