CLIMB fosters the professional, social, and personal development of Student Affairs staff, helping you to become more engaged and constructive members of the diverse and dynamic UCSD, Student Affairs, and global societies. Involvement in CLIMB activities provides you with opportunities to:

  • Develop skills and knowledge for personal growth and career advancement.
  • Promote personal wellness and work/ life balance.
  • Prepare for job transition and promotion within Student Affairs and beyond.
  • Learn about Student Affairs and enhance student service abilities.
  • Take care of ourselves in the same attentive, encouraging manner that we care for the students we serve.

1. Read about program eligibility and requirements.

Download the CLIMB Certificate Program Information and Instructions (PDF) to learn all about CLIMB, including eligibility, program requirements, and more.

2. Declare your intent to work toward a CLIMB Certificate.

Submit a completed CLIMB Program Intent Form (PDF) to the Student Affairs Professional Development Committee (Mail Code 0015).

3. Earn "steps" toward the completion of your CLIMB Certificate.

Eligible activities, courses, workshops and "step" values can be found in the CLIMB Certificate Program Information and Instructions (PDF).

4. Collect documentation of your activities as you go.

To document activities or courses that don't offer an official proof of completion, use the CLIMB Activity Verification Form (PDF).

5. Complete 25 "steps" within 2 years and submit your record of completion.

  • Check this page for an online Record of Completion form (coming soon), or e-mail SAClimb@ucsd.edu for more information.
  • Submit the record of completion with appropriate documentation to the Student Affairs Professional Development Committee (Mail Code 0015).
