Learn about the government research relations within the Office of Research Affairs.

Within the Office of Research Affairs, the Government Research Relations (GRR) unit supports and promotes UCSD’s mission of research, teaching, and public service through proactive engagement with the legislative and executive branches of government.

In order to represent campus interests, the Government Research Relations team interacts regularly with elected and appointed officials.  This liaison role ensures a unified and consistent voice for UCSD and provides a portal for policy makers to access the extensive intellectual resources of the campus.  GRR is a service unit designed to help the campus carry out its greater missions by providing efficient discourse with legislative and regulatory bodies on topics of importance to the research enterprise.  In conjunction with colleagues in the Office of Research Affairs, the team helps to foster research across disciplines, create opportunities, and promote awareness and support for the research mission of the university.
