Auxiliary & Plant Services

What we do

The 6 divisions that make up the Auxiliary & Plant Services (A&PS) department provide a variety of services to UCSD students, faculty, staff, and the community.

• The Campus Research Machine Shop provides services, including machined parts, welding services, and design consultation and fabrication of specialized parts and equipment.
• The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) houses a full-time child care facility that serves children 3 months old to 6 years old. The ECEC is open to children of full-time UCSD students, staff, and faculty, as well as a limited number of non-UCSD affiliates.
• Imprints provides campus copying and printing services, including copier supplies and maintenance, online ordering, self-serve copy centers, complete library services, and established relationships with outside printers.
• Facilities Management maintains UCSD buildings, grounds, and vehicles in addition to providing recycling and waste management services and design and construction services for basic building renovation projects.
• Transportation Services facilitates access to campus and Medical Center locations for students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors.
• The UCSD Bookstore offers a wide range of merchandise for staff, faculty, students, and visitors to choose from.
