Time-to-Degree Project Receives National Recognition

The UC San Diego Time-to-Degree Early Warning System uses millions of data points to look for signs that a student may be struggling academically. The system was built as a collaborative effort between Jonathan Whitman, director of IT for the EVC office/colleges, and Robert Musial from the IT Services Business Intelligence & Analytics team.

Musial’s groundbreaking algorithms will help advisors identify factors that point out students at risk of falling behind, allowing them to offer resources and services to help steer the student toward success.
