Find out about UCSD's role in improving Connexxus, UC’s travel program.
The University of California systemwide Travel Management Council works to identify potential cost savings and improve efficiencies for travel. UCSD actively participates in these UC efforts to leverage strengths and opportunities of systemwide travel management while promoting support for the needs of UCSD travelers.
Activities
The Council evaluates travel activities and services. Its activities include:
- Council members nominated by UC Controllers and CFOs work under direction of the vice president of UC Financial Management.
- Members work in organized teams to provide input and leadership for strategic sourcing travel activities. They develop strategies to strengthen UC travel practices and add value, flexibility, enhanced services, and convenience. The teams focus on:
- Air travel
- Hotels
- Car rental
- Online booking and travel agency services
- Systems, data, and policy management
- Athletic/ teams travel
