What We Do

The Administrative Computing and Telecommunications (ACT) Help Desk team works along with Blink to provide UCSD staff and faculty the information and solutions they need to conduct the daily business of the University.

We invite you to contact the ACT Help Desk for assistance when you can’t find what you’re looking for in Blink.

We can help you solve problems related to:

  • Central business systems, including Blink, Link Family, and MyServices, and mainframe services
  • Campus telecommunications (in coordination with ACT Customer Support)
  • Campus networks including campus wireless services
  • Campus cable TV service, including cable data modems
  • Centralized campus e-mail/ network username support for faculty and staff
  • Campus VPN/ proxy/ dial-up support
  • Campus security incidents (CIRT)
  • Campus computer registration support through Ethernet or wireless for faculty and staff
  • Campus computer/ network connectivity problems

Getting help

For walk-in help with wireless, VPN, e-mail, Sophos and virus/ spyware removal, visit the combined ACMS/ ACT walk-up Help Desk, Room 1313 in the Applied Physics and Math building from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, excluding university holidays.
