Our vision and mission are the bases for our policies and procedures, a set of fundamental statements of direction and code of conduct we actively support and follow. They are further defined in standards, procedures, and guidelines.

ACT Vision

To be the leader in business information technology and communication services in support of the University's mission of teaching, research, patient care, and public service.

ACT Mission

To create and support a communications and business information technology environment that meets the needs of the UCSD community. In support of this mission we will:

• Provide dependable, high quality, effective, and efficient production and support services
• Encourage and reward creativity and innovation in technology and business practices as we support the changing needs of our client community
• Implement and maintain an accessible, robust, and secure communications infrastructure
• Nurture client relationships by considering the needs of our client first, by actively listening and by freely sharing our own knowledge
• Extend courtesy and respect to all individuals
• Administer policies equitably and consistently
• Actively promote the UCSD Principles of Community
• Uphold high ethical standards by adhering to UC policies and guidelines
• Promote strategic partnerships with government, businesses, and other educational institutions
