Annual Laboratory Hazards Training

Learn about the Web-based training tutorial that laboratory personnel who work with hazardous materials must complete annually.

Requirement

San Diego County requires UCSD laboratory personnel who work with hazardous materials to receive annual refresher training in hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and emergency response.

First-time Training

If you have not yet completed formal training in safely handling hazardous materials, you must attend Laboratory Safety Principles/IIPP via Enrollment Central before you are eligible to take the annual refresher course described below.

Web-based Annual Refresher Training

Meet the annual refresher requirement by completing the Web-based tutorial on Enrollment Central.

Note: Use the "EC credit" link to have the tutorial recorded on your Enrollment Central and MyTraining training histories. Non-employees can use the "certificate only" link to view the tutorials and print a certificate upon successful completion.

  • Annual Laboratory Hazards Training
  • Print a Certificate of Completion at the end of the tutorial and keep it with your training records.
    • Keep training certificates where you can easily retrieve them upon request by inspectors. County inspectors audit UCSD training compliance during their annual inspections.

Expiration Dates

County regulations require training annually — not 12 months from date of completion. Your annual training can be completed anytime this year, regardless of last years expiration date.
