Annual Hazardous Materials Training for Trades Personnel

Learn how to get Annual Hazardous Materials Training for non-laboratory personnel who work with hazardous materials.

Requirement

San Diego County requires UCSD personnel who work with hazardous materials to receive annual refresher training in hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and emergency response.

First-time Training

If you have not yet completed initial training in safely handling hazardous materials, you must attend Hazardous Waste Training through Enrollment Central. Annual hazardous materials refresher training is required thereafter.

Web-based Annual Refresher Training

Meet the annual refresher requirement by completing the Web-based tutorial on Enrollment Central.

Note: Use the "EC credit" link to have the tutorial recorded on your Enrollment Central and MyTraining training histories. Non-employees can use the "certificate only" link to view the tutorials and print a certificate upon successful completion.

  • Annual Hazardous Materials Training for Non-Laboratory Personnel
  • Print a Certificate of Completion at the end of the tutorial and keep it with your training records.
  • Keep training records where you can easily retrieve them upon request by inspectors. County inspectors audit UCSD training compliance during their annual inspections.

Expiration Dates

County regulations require training annually — not 12 months from date of completion. Your annual training can be completed anytime this year, regardless of last years expiration date.
