How to Get Rid of Indoor Pests

Reporting urgent, pest-related situations

Examples:

  • Rattlesnake indoors
  • Swarm of bees indoors

Getting rid of pests yourself

Follow these instructions to eliminate the problem yourself:

  • Ants
  • Bees, hornets, wasps, or yellow jackets
  • Fleas
  • Moths, beetles, weevils, and worms
  • Roaches
  • Spiders

Requesting indoor pest control assistance

Examples of routine situations:

  • Repetitive ant invasions
  • Rats and/ or mice indoors

EH&S Pest Management Services will contact you within 1 working day to inspect your area or to schedule an inspection. If you are not contacted within 3 working days, call (858) 534-3660.

To request pest services for campus and SIO facilities, use 1 of the methods below:

  • Submit an online Request Pest Management Services form.
  • Print and complete the Pest Management Request Form (PDF). Send it to EH&S Pest Management:

    • E-mail: Pest Services

To request pest services for Medical Center facilities, contact the Healthcare Safety Office.

Note: If residential housing rooms require pest management services, occupants of the rooms to be treated must read and sign the Pest Management Preparation List (PDF) (Word file) before EH&S can treat the area.
