Police Services: Fingerprinting

Learn how to use the "live scan" fingerprint services, an inkless electronic system provided by the UCSD Campus Police Department.
Follow these steps to use live scan fingerprint services:
- Obtain a Request for Live Scan Service form, usually supplied by the organization requiring your fingerprints.
- Complete the form before you go to the Police Department to be fingerprinted.
- Be prepared to pay a $20 fee by cash, check, or department recharge.
(Note: You may be required to pay additional fees depending on the type of application.)
- Make an appointment by contacting the Records Division at (858) 534-4361. Appointments are available weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Bring your form, a valid photo ID, and the fee to the UCSD Police Department, Campus Services Complex - Building B
Note: The UCSD Police Department no longer offers ink fingerprinting services. This service is currently offered by the La Mesa Police Department, 6119 Lake Murray Boulevard, (619) 667-1400.
