Technology Transfer Office (TTO)

UCSD's Technology Transfer Office (TTO) works to place UCSD innovations with commercial partners for development into useful products to benefit the university community and the public.

The TTO protects, manages, and licenses UCSD's intellectual property, including inventions in the biomedical, life science and physical sciences sectors, copyright-protected materials such as software and images, and tangible research materials.

Reporting a new invention or copyright

To start the innovation evaluation process, report a new invention or copyright by submitting a disclosure form to our office. Click here to download forms.

  • For new compositions, machines, processes, compounds, devices, or methods, use the Invention and Technology Disclosure.
  • For algorithms, images, or software innovations, use the Copyright Disclosure form.
  • After completing and signing the appropriate form, send it to invent@ucsd.edu.

Inventor Portal
