News and events

Take the Campus Bike Challenge!
Win free stuff by pedaling to UC San Diego while motorists waste time, money, and gas in traffic. Individuals and teams of 3 or more who log the most bicycle commute miles during Bike to Campus Week, May 12–16, 2008, will win prizes, compliments of Rideshare Operations. Read the rules and instructions.

Bike to Work Day
Inflate those tires and test those brakes: Bike to Work Day is coming! Join friends and co-workers and ride to campus on Friday, May 16, 2008. Visit Ridelink for more information.

Sungod Festival delays and closures
Hopkins Drive will close from 6 a.m. to midnight between Northpoint Information Booth and Voigt Drive on Friday, May 16. Hopkins Parking Structure will only be accessible from Voigt Drive. Expect traffic delays in the area. Lots P359 (map) and 309 (map) will be closed to all except reserve space holders and those displaying disabled person plates or placards. Loop Shuttle service will be suspended the entire day. All other shuttles will remain on their normal schedules.

U.S. Open update
During the U.S. Open, June 9-15, 2008, you need only to show a UC San Diego ID upon boarding a bus, the MTS Trolley, and the NCTD Coaster or Sprinter service to ride free. Get transit trip planning assistance and see more about parking and transportation during the U.S. Open.

Live traffic reports

AVL keeps you in the loop
Using UCSD's extensive shuttle network is even easier with our Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system. Track the Campus Loop and other UCSD shuttles on their routes in real time from any Web-enabled device at http://ucsdbus.com.

Alternative transportation on the rise
More than half of regular commuters to the UC San Diego campus and the UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest are taking alternative forms of transportation. More.
