Details on pretax parking deductions
- Effective Jan. 1, 2009 individuals can have taxable income for federal and state reduced by up to $230 a month for pretax parking permits paid by payroll deduction. For 2008, the limit was $220 per month.
Details on pretax transportation deductions
- Effective March 18, 2009, individuals can have taxable income for federal and state reduced by up to $230 a month for combined value of transit passes and vanpooling expenses. For 2008, the limit was $115 per month.
