Patient/ Visitor Parking: Medical Center La Jolla

Find Medical Center La Jolla patient and visitor parking options, what you need to park legally, and the locations of the lots.

Note:

  • See parking changes (PDF) that begin Oct. 31, 2011.
  • Observe patient/ visitor parking regulations 24 hours daily, including weekends. No permit required on university-designated holidays.
  • Complimentary disabled parking is available in meters and accessible spaces when you display a valid Disabled Person placard or license plates.

Medical Center La Jolla parking

Medical Group
Patient:

Use patient parking in lot P603 (map): Pick up and display a complimentary Medical Group one-day parking permit from the receptionist in the office or clinic you’re visiting.

Moores Cancer Center
Patient:
  • View driving directions.
  • Use lot P751 (map). Pay a flat rate of $3 on exit.
  • Use patient parking in lot P784 (map):
    • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays: Pay a flat rate of $3 on exit.
    • 5 p.m. – 7 a.m. weeknights or 5 p.m. Friday – 7 a.m. Monday: Note the stall number you are parked in, and deposit $2 for first hour and $1 for each subsequent hour, up to a maximum of $8 per day, into the pay station. Pay stations accept Visa, Mastercard, and cash, but do not dispense change.
Thornton Hospital/ Perlman Center
Patient/ visitor:
  • View driving directions.
  • Short-term parking — Use lot P751 (map). Pay a flat rate of $3 on exit.
  • Extended parking — Use lots P753 (map) and P759 (map). Visit the campus parking office (map), to purchase a permit best suited to your needs.
  • Valet parking — In the circular drive at the hospital's main entrance (map).
    • 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays: Pay a $5 service fee plus 50 cents per half-hour up to $5, for a daily maximum of $10.
    • Nights and weekends: No valet service.
Shiley Eye Center
Patient:

Use patient parking in lot P760 (map). Pick up and display a complimentary 1-day parking permit from the reception desk in the lobby of the eye center.
