How to Arrange Parking for Campus Visitors and Guests

If you’re planning a special meeting or event that requires parking for your visitors orguests, make your arrangements early. Follow the instructions below to submit your special eventparking request.

Exceptions:

  • For events requiring more than 50 parking spaces, contact Special Events Parking, (858) 822-2624, for approval. If approved, an administrative fee may apply.
  • For events of more than 200 people, see Parking Options for Large Group Events.
  • To arrange event parking at UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest, contact Bill Schaefer, (619) 471-0553.

Gather information.

  • Be prepared to answer these questions when you submit your request:

  • What date is the event?
  • At what time does the event start and end?
  • Where is the event located?
  • In what parking lot do you want the spaces reserved? (Provide lot number.)
  • How many parking spaces do you need?
  • What information do you want printed on your sign(s)?

Submit your request.

Timing: Submit a Special Events Parking Space Request Form:

  • At least 3 working days in advance for events needing up to 5 spaces
  • At least 2 weeks in advance for events needing more than 5 spaces
  • A $50 late fee will be assessed for requests not made within the above guidelines.
  • Note: Space approval depends on availability.

  • If you need evening or weekend assistance from an on-site supervisor for your scheduled reservation, contact:
    • Evening Events Supervisor: (858) 518-9516, 4–9 p.m. weeknights
    • Weekend Events Supervisor: (858) 228-6615, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., weekends

Change or cancel your event if necessary.

Notify us of any change or cancellation as soon as possible to avoid penalties. E-mail Special Events Parking, fax (858) 534-9685, or call (858) 822-2624 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., weekdays.

Fees:

  • Change with 3 or more working days’ notice: $20
  • Change with fewer than 3 days’ notice: $40
  • Cancellation with fewer than 4 working days’ notice: 50% of event cost


Know your payment options.

  • Recharge: Submit a departmental index number with your request.
  • Pay cash, check, or money order at the Hopkins Parking Structure.

Note: University policy prohibits use by faculty and staff of a university-funded parking space.
