Coaster Shuttle

See the schedule for the Coaster Shuttle, one of many free shuttles that conveniently transport UCSD faculty, staff, and students between various on- and off-campus locations.

The Coaster Shuttle runs weekdays, year-round (excluding university holidays), between the Sorrento Valley Coaster Station and campus.

Check Parking and Commuter Alerts for updates and schedule changes during academic breaks.

During peak morning and late afternoon hours, 2 routes serve campus (Look for these symbols on signage and on the campus shuttle map to identify the route.):

Note: During off-peak midday hours, one combined route serves all stops, except as indicated below. Track the combined route or download a comprehensive printer-friendly schedule (PDF).

  • North Torrey Pines Road transit stop, west side, just south of Genesee (map)
  • Salk Institute Road (map)
  • Muir College Drive at North Torrey Pines Road (map)

  • Villa La Jolla Drive at La Jolla Village Drive, at gas station (not served by combined route) (map)

Riders must show a valid UCSD ID and either a monthly or quarterly Coaster pass or transit pass to the shuttle driver upon request. For more information, consult the North County Transit District’s Coaster schedule.

Register with the UCSD Transit/ Coaster Club for additional benefits.
