Learn how to participate in UCSD's free online ride-matching service. Faculty, staff, and students age 18 and older can use it to form carpools and vanpools.
Note: If you form a permanent carpool, you may be eligible for a free parking permit, access to reserved carpool parking spaces, and up to 3 rides per year through Ridelink's Guaranteed Ride Home Program. For more information, see How to Participate in a Carpool or How to Participate in a Vanpool.

- After you have become a member, you will automatically go to your selected destination each time you log on.
Note: Faculty and staff Ride-Match members can track rides using the My Commute Log and earn points toward commuter rewards.
- Log in to UCSD Ride-Match Service.
- From your Destination, use the check boxes and drop-down menus to narrow your list to rides near you or along your route.
- Check the Not a Match box next to rides you don’t want. Select Update at the bottom of page to hide checked rides.
- Contact potential ride matches:
- Click on the name of your potential ride match.
- Complete the e-mail and select Send.
- The system will automatically:
- Flag both rides as a Possible Match
- Send an e-mail to the other person and place a copy in your E-mail Log. Your potential match will accept or reject the match or reply to your e-mail. Note: Your privacy is protected because the system does not use your personal e-mail address.
- Once you finalize arrangements with your new ridesharing partner(s), return to the Member Information page and change your ride status from Open to Close-have a ride to prevent contact from other riders seeking a match.
