Commute Solutions Overview

Learn about a variety of programs and incentives offered by Commute Solutions to reduce traffic, parking congestion, and parking expenses.

Visit a Commute Solutions office on campus (map) or in Hillcrest (map) to find your best commuting alternative, pay for transit passes, etc. Walk in or click below to reserve a block of time with a Commute Solutions representative:

Programs offered

  • Pedal Club: The Pedal Club offers incentives to commuters who cycle to campus or medical center. Also see Resources for Bicyclists.
  • Carpools: 2 or more commuters can register their carpool and receive additional benefits.
  • Transit/ Coaster Club: Reduced-fare passes and other benefits are offered to commuters who take public transportation to campus. Also see UCSD bus zone and public transit.
  • Vanpools: UCSD faculty, staff, and students are eligible to join campus or medical center vanpools at a subsidized rate.

Services and benefits

  • Guaranteed Ride Home program: Members of vanpools, carpools, Pedal Club, and Transit/ Coaster Club can get a lift to their home or car when unforeseen circumstances leave them stranded at work.
  • Ride-matching service: A ZIP code matching system connects commuters who travel from the same community to campus or medical center.
  • Zipcar car sharing: Members can rent vehicles by the hour for personal use, and Commute Solutions members get added discounts.
