How to Request Lock or Key Changes

The Customer Relations help desk processes all campus key and lock requests. To request key or lock changes, follow the steps below.

1. Complete a key or lock work request.

To request key or lock changes, complete form 2144.

  • You can order this form in pads of 10 from STORE, (858) 534-7467, Part #2144.
  • If you only need one form, check with your departmental business office.

For security and safety reasons, all key and lock change requests must be submitted in writing. We hope to develop a secure electronic system for processing these requests in the near future. Until then, please use form 2144.

2. Submit your work request.

Submit the completed form for processing.

  • If your request is urgent, take the completed form to the Customer Relations help desk at the north entrance of Campus Services Complex, Building C (map). A designated parking space is available for your convenience.
  • For standard processing, send the completed form to Facilities Management, Mail Code 0908.

3. Check the status of a work request.

Contact the Customer Relations help desk, (858) 534-2930.

4. Pick up keys in person.

For security reasons, customers must pick up requested keys at the Customer Service Center, located at the north entrance of Campus Services Complex, Building C (map). A designated parking space is available for your convenience.
