Core Bio Services Overview

Learn about UCSD's Core Bio Services, which offers high-quality cell culture and microbiology products and services for the campus research community and the San Diego biotech community.

Note: The Core Bio Services catalog offering is available though Marketplace, UCSD’s new online buying site. If your department has access to Marketplace you may place orders using the site. Check the list of departments and representatives (Excel) to find out if your department has access.

Products and services

• Catalog of molecular biological products: Products include restriction enzymes, modifying enzymes, transformation and transfection products, growth factors, ultrapure reagents, and DNA sequencing.
• Cell storage and freezing: Provide liquid nitrogen storage for cell lines and biologicals in -180° storage tanks with temperature alarms, and ampule storage for UCSD investigators and local firms.
• Video rental: A number of videos that outline basic and advanced cell culture techniques are available.
