Departmental Library Furniture

Read background and guidelines for purchasing furniture for your departmental library.

Departmental library furniture includes but is not limited to solid-wood tables and chairs and book carts, computer kiosks, bookshelves, and magazine racks. See the table below to find the supplier of these items.

Note: Use Marketplace, UCSD's online buying site to order furniture items from BKM if your department has access.

  • If you're not sure that your department has access, check the list of departments and representatives (Excel) to find out.
  • If your department is listed, you can go directly to Marketplace and start shopping. If you can't find the item you want, contact the UC Call Center, (877) 722-9090 for assistance.
  • If your department doesn't have access to Marketplace, see Getting Set Up in Marketplace.

To view and order furniture products online, please visit Steelcase@STORE or BKM@UCSD.

Buyer tip: You must observe the State of California, Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation TB-133 (PDF) regarding furniture construction and fabrics when buying furniture for public areas such as the Price Center, libraries, classrooms, and faculty or student lounges.
