The Staff Equal Opportunity Enrichment Program (SEOEP) program provides individual awards up to $500 for training activities to help cover tuition/ book expenses for career development activities.
Application requirements
- Apply online.
- Deadline for proposal is Friday, April 24, 2009.
- Proposals must be complete and accurate.
- The proposed training activity must occur July 1, 2009 – June 1, 2010. Award notifications will be sent by July 1, 2009. (102 individual applications were funded for FY 2008-2009.)
- Requests for tuition/ registration fees and books/ materials should not exceed $500.
- Do not include parking, insurance, meals, lodging, transportation, membership dues, or health costs.
- Note: Some institute class fees can be considered for funding (e.g, WACUBO Business Management Institute of UC Santa Barbara).
Eligibility
- UCSD career employees interested in promotion or career change to one of UCSD's job titles
- Completed probationary period
- A recent performance rating of "solid performance" or better
- Note: Applicants should seek funding from their departments in addition to submitting a proposal for SEOEP funds.
Selection criteria
- Does the applicant aspire to a promotion or career change to any of UCSD's job titles?
- Does the proposal relate directly to the aspired position?
- Is the proposal part of an attainable career plan for promotion or a career change?
- Have staff program funds been allocated previously to the applicant? If so, the evaluation of the previously awarded activity will be used in consideration of this proposal.
- Is the applicant pursuing an advanced degree? Higher priority will be given to applicants who have not yet attained a bachelor's or advanced degree.
- Note: Based on available funds, previous awards may be taken into consideration.
If you receive an award
- Expend or commit all awarded funds by March 31, 2010. Any unused funds will be forfeited.
- Upon completion of the awarded training activity, submit these items to Mail Code 0923 by June 15, 2010:
- Reimbursement form
- Evaluation form
- Original receipts
- Evidence of successful completion of the training
