Internship will be 50% for 1 year

Note: Due to the nature of outreach, a flexible schedule is required. For example: 3 – 5 full days in the internship may be required in exchange of 3 – 5 full days in the home department.

This internship is open to all UCSD career staff who have completed their probationary period, are committed to University of California employment, have achieved a “met expectations” or ”solid performance” or better on their most recent performance evaluation, have their written career plan, and are seeking advancement at UCSD. This internship is open to those who have not done an internship in the Chancellor’s office. If you have completed an internship in the Chancellor’s office, please do not apply.

This internship will be a unique opportunity for a staff member to get direct experience as a writer who will focus on communication materials such as letters, website content, talking points and PowerPoint presentations.

The intern’s responsibilities include:

  • Generate entries for Chancellor’s office website
  • Conduct background research for talking points
  • Create PowerPoint presentations
  • Take pictures and notes at Campus Events

Do you have these Skills & Knowledge? You should apply for this internship:

  • A general understanding of the university structure and its leadership

Skills & Knowledge Intern Can Expect to Gain:

  • Networking skills to work with all levels of the campus community
  • Experience in drafting correspondence i.e., thank you and congratulatory letters for high level administrators
