How to Use Student-to-Staff Hiring

Use this step-by-step guide to convert a student position to a staff position.

1. Request a student-to-staff exception to recruitment.

  1. Prepare the online Student to Staff Requisition via Hire Online.
  2. Wait for the Student Employment Office (SEO) to electronically notify the Records Office that the request has been approved.

2. Submit supporting paperwork/ documentation.

Print the SEO e-mail with approval and send it along with hard copies of the prospective employee's resume, resume supplement, applicant data form, and classified Job Description to the Records Coordinator, Human Resources at Mail Code 0922.

3. Get approval.

Wait for Human Resources to notify you electronically with approval, then process necessary Payroll Personnel System actions.
