Eldercare

Find out about eldercare resources available to faculty and staff.

UCSD's Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) offers an ongoing eldercare support group, as well as individual eldercare referrals and resources. Specific issues addressed include:

  • Caretaker management
  • Elderly relatives and disabilities
  • Sibling conflict resulting from eldercare time and financial commitments
  • Long-distance caretaking
  • Emotional issues involved in eldercare

Eligibility

All current and retired faculty and staff can participate in the eldercare support group and benefit from individual referrals and resources (medical, psychological, professional caretakers, transportation, etc.).

Location and hours

The eldercare support group meets at the Student Services Center, Room 260 (map) on the first Thursday of each month, noon to 1 p.m. Contact FSAP, (858) 534-5509, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for general information, referrals, and resources.

Fee

FSAP doesn't charge for support groups or individual referrals and resources.
